North Sea-Mediterranean waterway?
The Seine-Nord canal may not be the only jewel in the crown of Voies Navigables de France (VNF). The organisation has not given up on linking the North Sea with the Mediterranean, even though the Rhine-Rhône link project was abandoned several years ago, on ground of cost and the environmental impact on the Doubs Valley.
