Rail4chem sets up Dutch subsidiary

Following the acquisition of Dutch private rail operator Shortlines, Rail4chem Eisenbahnverkehrsgesellschaft mbH, the BASF/VTG-Lehnkering/Hoyer/ Bertschi joint venture set up in 2001 to develop a pan-European network of rail services for the region’s chemical industry, has established a wholly-owned subsidiary in the Netherlands.

Based in Rotterdam, rail4chem Benelux BV started operations last month, offering, in cooperation with the German rail4chem, container transport links between Worms/Ludwigshafen and Rotterdam as well as between Duisburg and Rotterdam.
