Following intensive efforts, the Port of San Diego has succeeded in wooing Dole Fresh Fruit Company from the Port of Los Angeles.

The Port of San Diego has been given the go-ahead by its board of commissioners to build a new 33-acre container terminal on San Diego Bay. The facility would initially be equipped with a single harbour mobile crane and later with two container cranes on a 50ft gauge.
