MSC and Onorato Armatori have signed a contract with China State Shipbuilding Corporation affiliates Guangzhou Shipyard International Co and China Shipbuilding Trading Co (CSTC) for four ropax cruise ferries
The LNG-ready ferries will have an intake of 2500 passengers with 534 cabins and 3,765 lane metres for cars and rolling freight. They are 229.5m long and 32m wide and service speed is 23.5 knots. They are classed by RINA.
The first (mid-2020) and third delivery will go to MSC Grandi Nave Veloci and Onorato will take the second and fourth vessels. The operators have options for two more vessels each.
These are the biggest vessels ever ordered by Onorato, while for MSC the order marks its first ro-pax newbuildings from China.
