Panama Canal’s FY-2024 transits down
NewsPanama Canal posts lower figures in total transits for the FY-2024 amid challenges from drought.
With the third locks catering for ships up to around 13,000 TEU set to open in April next year – around a year later than originally scheduled – the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) is considering building a fourth set of locks that could cater for ships in the 20,000 to 22,000 TEU range. The cost is estimated at US$16B-17B.
