Izmir-based Arkas Line has upped its presence in the eastern Mediterranean liner shipping sector with a new ship and deploying its own tonnage in a jointly operated string. The 2,837 TEU EMMA A, its largest ship to date, has begun operating in the line’s core Turkey-Levant service. This string calls at Istanbul (Marport), Izmir, Gemlik, Alexandria, Port Said, Beirut, Mersin and returns to Istanbul.
