As with most shipping trades, containership operators charter space on their vessels to partner lines to offer customers a wider delivery network than that serviced by their own vessels as well as to boost slot utilisation.
For a ship operator accepting a partner line booking on its vessel, the process of checks is broadly the same as with a direct customer booking, but it is significantly more complicated when the containers are carrying dangerous goods.
