BDP in Honeywell fluorine deal

The European Commission (EC) has approved the Honeywell/Intermec transaction announced in February this year. The deal has not been able to close, however, as the US Federal Trade Commission has still not given its approval.

Two of the most familiar names in rugged computers have been acquired by bigger players recently: Honeywell acquired LXE in 2011 and Motorola Solutions acquired Psion last year.

After organising a successful forum to discuss the issue with refrigeration experts and affected parties last month (see WorldCargo News December 2011, p17), the Container Owners Association (COA) and the TT Club have jointly issued guidelines that provide a call for industry action to eliminate counterfeit gas supply from the reefer container industry.

The reefer machinery manufacturing industry is continuing to perform strongly and is on track to produce over 100,000 units in 2007. However, competition remains intense in the battle to maintain market share.
