Suretank adds 20ft cryogenic tank

Ireland-based Suretank, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of tank containers and cargo carrying units (CCUs) for the offshore oil and gas industries, is opening a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Brazil.

After suffering a drastic drop in orders in 2009, tank manufacturers recovered last year to an extent that exceeded expectations. The major players are targeting an even greater output in 2011.

Irish offshore tank container specialist Suretank Ltd has acquired a controlling interest in China’s longest established tank builder, Zhongshan Zhonghua Tank Containers Ltd, from Hong Kong-based Chiling (Holdings) Ltd, which retains a minority share. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
