Terberg set to launch new tractor

Recent investments push West Africa Container Terminal’s annual handling capacity to 385,000 TEU.

Patrick Terminals Fremantle has deployed nine new Terberg electric terminal tractors, funded by ARENA’s Driving the Nation Program.

South Africa’s TPT deploys terminal tractors at Durban and Ngqura, alongside a crane refurbishment project at Ngqura, aiming to boost efficiency.

The Dutch company continues to invest to extend its range of electric machines, aiming for 60-80% of sales to be electric by the end of the decade.

The Terberg machine will be fitted with autonomous technology, but project manager Pär Kraft says “There will always be a need for human supervision and input into the vehicle.”

DP World Callao deployed 20 Terberg electric terminal tractors, the first in South America, supported by Enel X Way’s charging facility with 10 x 200kW fast chargers.
