Reefer production at an all time high

Reefer container manufacturers notched up another big production increase during 2011, beating their previous annual peak in 2008 by more than a third. The overall figure, according to latest manufacturing data, amounted to 305,000 TEU (157,000 units, up 60% on the 190,000 TEU (97,500 units) built in 2010 and three times higher than 2009, when reefer demand was depressed by the global recession.
