After organising a successful forum to discuss the issue with refrigeration experts and affected parties last month (see WorldCargo News December 2011, p17), the Container Owners Association (COA) and the TT Club have jointly issued guidelines that provide a call for industry action to eliminate counterfeit gas supply from the reefer container industry.

The TT Club has sponsored the production of new guidelines by the Container Owners Association (COA) and the CINS (Cargo Incident Notification System) organisation on non-operating reefers (NORs). An NOR is the practice of using reefer containers to ship dry cargo without the reefer machinery running, mostly to capture paying cargo as reefers are repositioned.
