The reefer manufacturing industry has yet to be as severely impacted by the current economic conditions as the dry freight sector, but world production in 2008 is expected to fall by over 10% on the record achieved in 2007. An output of 200,000TEU (equivalent to 103,000 units) is currently forecast, although some of this may be carried over into next year.
