Companies leasing integral reefer containers have experienced a significant upturn in business during the past 12-18 months, as the protracted downturn of the previous four years has finally come to an end. The adverse market climate had afflicted the reefer leasing sector since the start of 1996 and forced down average utilisation rates to an all-time low. It also resulted in a 40 per cent fall in per diem rental rates in the three years to mid-99.
