Chile’s Agencias Universales SA (Agunsa) has taken a majority stake in port operator Carver Maritime Manatee

Agunsa has operations in more than 20 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and the USA. Now it have taken a 75% stake in Carver Maritime Manatee (CMM), a terminal in the Tampa Bay Canal area, specialising in stevedoring, management and storage services for various breakbulk and bulk vessel shipments.

 

The Carver Company will continue as minority partner of CMM.

 

Agunsa says it will maximise CMM’s potential with its international commitment and industrial expertise. The terminal occupies 18 acres and has priority access to berths 4 and 5 with a total length of 1,300ft and a depth of 40ft alongside. The terminal has a silo capacity of 8,500 tons.

 

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
