ICTSI’s VCT welcomes new MHCs
NewsNew ESP.5 Gottwald MHCs from Konecranes have arrived at Visayas Container Terminal, boosting the facility’s operational capacity.
ICTSI has implemented the Logstar TOS for its multipurpose terminal in Cameroon.
Denmark-based Logstar is part of Envecon, which is a global service and channel partner for enterprise software company IFS. Logstar has been set up by Envecon for the ports market, and counts several of the global terminal operators as customers.
Through its parent company Envecon, Logstar provides ERP and Asset Management solutions for ports and terminals, and has now expanded into TOS. The Logstar TOS is a cloud-based application, with options for intermodal depots, container terminals and general cargo terminals. According to the company Logstar is used at 32 sites across 22 countries.
ICTSI has now decided to “upgrade” its Kribi Multipurpose Terminal (KMT) at the Port of Kiribi in Cameroon with the Logstar TOS. KMT is a general cargo facility serving catering to ro-ro project and heavy lift cargo, the oil and gas industry, forestry and steel products, dry bulk and other general cargo. ICTSI signed a 25-year concession to operate KMT in 2020.
In 2019 ICTSI announced a global partnership with Navis designed to make it easier for ICTSI to roll out N4 at terminals around the globe. That, however, is clearly not an exclusive arrangement. At this stage it is not known why ICTSI has opted for Logstar instead of N4, which is also now being offered as a cloud-based product, but the fact that Cargotec is currently conducting a sale process for Navis may well be a factor.
For KMT, the Logstar TOS will cover all aspects of vessel, gate, yard and warehouse operations, and streamline the flow of information at the terminal. “Providing KMT customers with the assurance that our world-class service is matched with world-class technology is a core focus for our rapidly expanding business in Cameroon. With the support of the local port users and our shipping line partners, we believe that the benefits of automating processes and information flow at KMT will help us deliver even greater efficiency beyond our fence and throughout our customer supply chains,” said Kathy Magne, KMT Managing Director.
