Protests at Umm Qasr

At the time of writing in midNovember, civil unrest in Iraq had claimed the lives of almost 300 people and left hundreds injured. The latest protests, which started in early October, have been centred on Baghdad and the southern city of Basra, close to which is located the country’s largest port, Umm Qasr.
