In 2018, rail-borne container volumes to and from the Port of Gothenburg rose by 13%, the port authority said. This could be explained by a bounce-back from a bad year in 2017, but the port noted that during 2019, volumes have continued to increase – up 18% (from 126,000 TEU to 149,000 TEU) in the first four months of the year.
