Portugal’s minister of the sea, Ana Paula Vitorino, has launched a “Strategy to Increase Port Competitiveness”, which aims to boost container throughput by 200% and allied logistics and service business by 50%. All existing terminal concessions in ports are to be renegotiated and three new ones issued.
