This October, the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) is to open an office in Rwandan capital, Kigali. This will allow agents to clear goods and check port charges and the location of cargo from Kigali, rather than at the Port of Dar es Salaam. The TPA said that the new office will reduce Rwandan traders’ cost of doing business through Dar es Salaam by up to 20%.
