A subsidiary established by Antwerp Port Authority to assist the development of ports in emerging economies also has a mission to assume a management role.

Many of the companies that feature in the global terminal operator (GTOs) focus in this edition of WorldCargo News (pages 47-54) have highlighted emerging economies as their target markets for future port projects. While Port of Antwerp International (PAI) may be less highprofile than some of the protagonists seeking to expand their global reach, it also has ambitions to support the development of port and logistics infrastructure in growing economic regions such as India, Brazil, Africa, the Middle East and South East Asia.
