Major expansion planed for Tema
NewsThe Ghanaian Government has confirmed that it is to pump up to US$1B into expanding the port of Tema and further substantial funds into improving the port’s highway and rail connections.
In a move that is becoming more common in Africa, the ports of Freetown in Liberia and Tema in Ghana have signed a cooperation agreement, which will see staff from the latter assist in the expansion of the former. The twinning agreement was signed by the Sierra Leone Ports Authority (SLPA) and the Ghana Ports and Harbours (GPHA) during June.
