Wallenius Lines’ takes delivery of multi-fuel car carrier Future Way
NewsThe inaugural vessel of Wallenius Lines’ multi-fuel fleet, Future Way, has been delivered from CIMC Raffles Shipyard, and will now start a ten-year charter with Volkswagen.
The decision to award SSA México the concession to operate the Specialist Automotive Terminal (TEA) at the Mexican port of Lázaro Cárdenas is being seen by some as a wrong move, since it hands the company control of 90% of the capacity to handle new vehicles on Mexico’s Pacific coast. The company already controls 60% of such traffic in ports on the Gulf of Mexico. In effect, it has a virtual monopoly in this traffic segment.
