VICT reaches 5m TEU
NewsVictoria International Container Terminal, ICTSI’s fully automated container handling facility at the Port of Melbourne, has reached five million TEU.
Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) has awarded a A$150M contract for on-ground works at Port Botany’s third container terminal to engineers Laing O’Rourke.
Waterside infrastructure for the A$1B project was completed and handed over earlier this year but the new contract represents the first landside contract. It covers civil and rail infrastructure, including the provision of rigid pavement using onsite concrete batching, high-voltage substations, structural support for the heavy-duty quay and stacking crane systems, rail sidings, drainage and ground improvements on the newly reclaimed site.
