Positive first year for Noatum

Noatum Ports (formerly Dragados-SPL) completed its first full year of operation in 2011, during which it reported total traffic of 49 mt, 400,000 finished vehicles and 3.9M TEU of container traffic, whilst handling 8000 vessels at all its Spanish operations. The company also relocated its headquarters from Madrid to Valencia, home of its biggest operation, Noatum Container Terminal (NCT) Valencia (ex-Marítima Valenciana).

Managing director Douglas Schultz said that Noatum Ports is in the Spanish market for the long haul and will make investment in port infrastructure over the longer term, utilising the financial support of its shareholders, JP Morgan and the Dutch ABP pension fund.
