Indonesia to build two new ports

Indonesia’s state port operator Pelindo II is to build a new port at Kalibaru in north Jakarta and has secured a US$1.29B loan from Bank Mandiri to finance the first phase. The project will add 6.5M TEU of annual capacity to the existing Tanjung Priok port, which currently has a 5M TEU capacity. Construction of the Kalibaru facility is expected to be completed in 2017.
