VICT reaches 5m TEU
NewsVictoria International Container Terminal, ICTSI’s fully automated container handling facility at the Port of Melbourne, has reached five million TEU.
As trailed in last month’s issue of WorldCargo News (p13), Sydney Ports Corporation (SPC) activated the new Port Botany performance system on 28 February, fining stevedores and road carriers for failing to meet mandated benchmarks.
The reciprocal financial penalties were introduced after a month-long “final trial” of the Port Botany Landside Improvement Strategy (PBLIS) operational performance standards.
