Captain Z I Awan, chief executive officer of Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT), has drawn our attention to an error in the story “Work begins on Pakistan deepwater terminal” in the April 2010 issue of WorldCargo News (p40).

The story described PICT as staterun terminal, which is not the case. PICT is a private terminal, majority owned by local marine group Premier Mercantile Services (Pvt) Ltd, led by Capt Haleem Siddiqui. The terminal is financed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the OPEC Fund for International Development and its shares are traded on the Karachi Stock Exchange.
