Florida ports shut down to vessel traffic as Hurricane Milton approaches
NewsFlorida ports have suspended all vessel traffic in preparation for Hurricane Milton, as Floridians flee their homes amid mass evacuations.
The container terminal at the Port of Tampa has been expanded from 25 to 40 acres, with additional phases planned that will increase it to 160 acres on adjacent land owned by the Tampa Port Authority (TPA). The terminal now has 2100ft of berth, three ship-toshore gantry cranes and a 100t mobile harbour crane, on a 43ft deep channel.
