PYI takes control of Yichang

Hong Kong-listed PYI Corp has taken control of the Yichang Port Group (YPG), which operates 57 berths along the Yangtze River in China’s central Hebei province.

PYI paid Yuan46M (US$6.8M), the final instalment in a Yuan149M deal agreed last year to acquire a 51% stake in YPG (see WorldCargo News September 2008, p7). The acquisition was financed by a US$46.7M) rights issue.
