JNPT plans first SEZ

India’s first special economic zone (SEZ) exclusively for a port will be developed by Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) on 276 hectares of land near Mumbai port. “We conducted a feasibility study of the proposed SEZ and the proposal has been sent to the central government for final approval,” JNPT chairman SS Hussain said.
