India’s Tariff Authority for Major Ports (TAMP) is seeking jurisdiction over all of the country’s 200 ports, several of which have capacities larger than some of the 12 state-run major ports.

The move would reduce the ability of smaller ports to attract cargo from major ports as TAMP regulations would restrict their freedom to fix competitive tariffs.
