CTAA: Port of Melbourne hit by congestion following DP World IT issues
NewsThe Port of Melbourne is grappling with landside congestion following IT issues at DP World’s West Swanson Terminal this week.
Saigon Premier Container Terminal (SPCT), an 80:20 joint venture between DP World and the Vietnamese state-owned Tan Thuan Industrial Promotion Company (IPC), officially opened for business earlier this month when the 1,200 TEU CMA CGM vessel ASTA RICKMERS called as part of its weekly FAS Vietnam service between Ho Chi Minh City, Tanjung Pelapas and Port Klang.
Operated by DP World, SPCT, located along the western shore of the Soai Rap River in the Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park,15 km north of Ho Chi Minh City, has four berths with a total length of 950m, equipped with five ship-toshore cranes and 13 RTGs. Annual capacity is 1.5M TEU.
