Genoa fruit terminal to Gavio

Clerici Logistics Group (CLG) has reached Heads of Agreement to sell Terminal Frutta Genova (TFG) to Gavio. The deal, which would be made through Gavio’s Argo Finanziaria arm, would be the second sale and purchase agreement between the two companies in this sector – the first involved TFT Trieste, sold to Gavio several years ago.

Chiquita is reorganising its European banana business. It has cancelled a contract with MSC that brought around 80,000 tpa of bananas in its containers into Bremerhaven, its traditional port for Germany, where bananas are ripened before distribution to Germany, Scandinavia and parts of Eastern Europe. Chiquita switched to MSC container vessels in 016, having previously called at Bremerhaven with its Great White Fleet reefer ships, carrying containers and breakbulk.
