APMT/Vinalines get closer

APM Terminals (APMT) and Vinalines, part of the Vietnamese National Shipping Lines company, Vietnam’s largest shipping line and terminal operator, have entered into a new joint venture agreement to develop Vietnamese ports.

The two parties are already working together in Cai Mep International Container Terminal (CMIT) in Southern Vietnam. This facility near Ho Chi Minh City is due to open in the fourth quarter of 2010 and will eventually have a capacity for 1.1M TEU/year.
