Plans by India’s Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) to build a new port at Diamond Harbour on the Hooghly River (see WorldCargo News May 2008, p22) have hit the blocks after the Defence Ministry decided not to release 43 acres of land it owns that are needed for the project.
