The Uruguayan Parliament has agreed to open up a controversial tender for a new container terminal in the historic port of Montevideo. As previously reported the plan has the full backing of port authority (ANP) president Fernando Puntigliano, but will likely face serious legal injunctions from Belgian port operator Katoen Natie, which currently operates the only dedicated container terminal in Uruguay, Terminal Cuenca de la Plata (TCP).
