Crunch time for Dar es Salaam

The government of Tanzania has stated that it will soon decide the fate of Tanzania International Container Services’ (TICTS) concession to operate Dar es Salaam container terminal. The company, 70% owned by IIHC (ICTSI group) was originally awarded a 10-year contract to manage the terminal in 2000. In 2001 Hutchison took over TICTS as part of its acquisition of most of IIHC’s portfolio.
