Ensenada digs deep

The Mexican port of Ensenada has issued a tender for dredging work aimed at increasing draft to 16m before the end of this year, in order to attract vessels in the 6500 TEU range. At present, the port can only accommodate vessels of up to 4500 TEU, which makes it uncompetitive compared with the likes of Long Beach and Los Angeles.
