New terminal in Duisburg

The Port of Duisburg, Europe’s biggest inland port, has reached another milestone with the opening of the first shipping line-owned terminal in the port. In response to growing congestion in the sea ports, CMA CGM and NYK have opened the D3T Duisburg Trimodal Terminal in the Logport logistic park in Duisburg Rheinhausen.

Gateway traffic moved via Duisburg to European hinterland destinations will account for a significant share of the throughput projected for D3T. Most of the two lines’ cargo was not shipped through the port in the past, so this is new business.
