Rauma aims high but faces short term constraints

Last year, container traffic through the Port of Rauma jumped 40% to 170,000 TEU and 28% in tonnage to 1.5 Mt, boosting revenue and highlighting potential capacity problems. Total traffic last year reached a record 6.56MT, 11% up on 2006 and 4% up on the previous all-time record in 2004. Container traffic in 2007 will reach 185,000 TEU, so growth has slowed but the capacity constraints are getting tighter.
