KPA gets to grips with problems

The Kenyan Port Authority (KPA) is taking several steps to tackle congestion and improve productivity at the Port of Mombasa. First, it will remove up to 8000 containers that have been waiting for collection for many months or even years. Wambui Namu, KPA’s commissioner for customs said that some traders have refused to clear their containers and claim the containers are double-taxed.
