Fatal crane accident in Mobile
One man was killed and another slighlty injured on 3 March when the flared bow of a geared container ship, ZIM MEXICO III on charter to Zim Lines from German owners, struck a ship-to-shore crane in the US Gulf Port of Mobile, causing it to collapse onto the quay. It damaged the ship’s bow and took out a stack of containers as it went down.
