Deurganckdok ready but the space race continues

With the first phase of the delayed Deurganckdok due to come on stream in July, when some 700m of quay will become operational at the Antwerp Gateway Terminal, to be followed by 1500m on both the east and west sides by the end of this year, pressure on container handling will ease somewhat in Antwerp. The port only sees the Deurganckdok as a temporary respite, however, and is already looking at further expansion.
