Kazakhstan plans new China-Russia transit route
NewsKazakhstan is developing a new trade route from China to Russia via the Irtysh River, with a port and railway planned, aiming for completion by 2026.
Located in eastern Estonia just 25 km from the Russian border, the new, privately-owned Port of Sillamäe (Silport) is touting itself as a strategic EU gateway for Russia, with quayside depths ranging between 12m and 16m able to accommodate Baltimax vessels.
