UK ports debate heats up

The British government has rejected a call from the House of Commons Select Committee on Transport for a national ports strategy (see last month’s WorldCargo News pp16-17). According to an official statement, formulating a national strategy would mean delaying key decisions on container port expansion and this would be “unacceptable.”
