The recent scandal over the award of contracts at the Port of Mombasa (see last month’s WorldCargo News, p7) seems to have been settled by the intervention of the Kenyan government. The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA)’s tugboat tender award to Holland’s Damen Shipyard is to stand, but new bidders are to be sought for the contract to supply cranes.
