For the first time, Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has agreed to allow a Pakistani shipping line to set up a private container terminal. Subject to the permit being sanctioned by the federal government, Pakistan Maritime Services (PMS) will be able to progress with its proposed US$60 mill investment to redevelop berths 6, 7, 8 and 9 at the East Wharf.
