Will a new Trump Administration end the Clean Ports Program?

Ports across the US outline targeted plans to utilise EPA funding to accelerate the shift to zero-emission equipment and infrastructure.

The US Environmental Protection Agency has selected winners of its US$ 2.9 billion Clean Ports Program.

Grants provide funding for infrastructure upgrades, including $450M to support zero emissions projects, and $350M for grade separation at rail crossings.

The cost of the port’s new box terminal, which requires zero emission equipment during construction and operation, has risen by 50%.

New battery electric forklift features 36,000-lb lifting capacity and an NMC battery with a charge time optimised to 1.5 hours. 

The Port of Oakland has passed an environmental ordinance covering cargo handling equipment, but it is not the “zero emissions” requirement the port says it is.
