Three major car manufacturers have joined UECC’s Sail for Change programme to cut emissions by using bio-LNG for cargo transport across Europe.

The guidance has been written to be used in conjunction with procedures already in place on ships, at terminals and in the wider transport chain.

There are shortages in car carrying capacity, especially in China, where the export of electric vehicles has soared in the past two years.

Shipboard equipment orders have been booked by SM Solution/Philly Shipyard and by China Merchant Heavy Industries (Jiangsu) Co Ltd
